Over time, the designs evolved, with variations emerging based on regional wood availability, climate, and cultural influences. All oil-based staining products are compatible with our fence material. You may stain your fence whatever color you like to match your backyard, or you can use a clear sealant to protect the natural look and beauty of fresh wood. If left untreated and let to weather, our cedar will gradually fade to a lovely silver-grey hue. Allowing your cedar fence to weather naturally has no effect on the fence's integrity or durability. |

Horizontal Fence Installation
Horizontal fencing has become extremely popular in recent years. Horizontal Fence have their pickets, or boards, horizontal instead of vertical like your typical fence. Horizontal fencing requires a different type of installation, as well as different materials. The boards that go in between the posts are not your average pickets, they are usually pre-fabricated with a tongue and groove design to overlap and fit together like a puzzle. This results in a higher cost in material and more limited options.
Horizontal Fencing with Metal Posts
Not only can horizontal fencing be a great option, when combined with metal posts, you get the best of both worlds. Metal posts with a cedar fence allows for a fantastic contract with the wood grain, but you also get the increased strength and rigidity of the metal. Metal posts in concrete are a sure fire way to have a strong fence that provides decades of service.
When using metal posts, we usually use either aluminum posts or steel. Aluminum is your most cost effective option, and doesn't rust. Steel is more expensive but offers added strength.
